This would in no way compromise the end user agreement. I read something into your post that wasn't there. Woke up this morning and knew I'd not thought it through.:f |
Duplicate Disk
When you have the "Duplicate Disk" Window on the screen and you have
clicked on "Start Duplicating" Try moving the "Duplicate Disk" Window down to see what is behind it, that is where I found the "Bar Scale" I don't know if this is what you are looking for. Pres |
Well I guees we found out how many computers we can install a program on at least........So I am legal :t Ok..Back to the task at hand I have cleared the HD Done a full instalation (Windows XP Pro) Reformatted, and reinstalled Microstudio 3.004 Still the same result. I then went back and unistalled and/or removed any and all unrelated programs and files in case there was a conflict. I have upgradeed everything from the mouse to the burner checking Microstudio between every step. Still the same result. I have removed and reinstalled several times, NO LUCK!!!!
By the way admin It's not installed on an external HD I just copied it there for storage/back-up instead of a disc. Now as far as the problem with 3.004 goes I think I've exhausted all my options, I can't think of any other methods to try, and even if I could think of something I've streched my computer knowledge to the limit. I can work around Duplicate Disc with Import Tracks and Write Disc for now until 3.100 gets here........Or of course...the legal computer #2 :g |

Try setting both read and write to one drive. Then duplicate, but you will have to change out the CD after it has create the image file. MS will prompt you when. If this doesn't work try the other drive. (You only list one drive, but problem description implies two) This should isolate which drive is not cooperating I hope.
|
I only have one drive installed one this machine and both read and write are set to it. Not sure where I implied two drives, sorry for the confusion.
The thing about this is, It works fine in the "Import Tracks" function as well as the "Write Disc" function. Even when I drag and drop from My Songs box with CD tab selected to Play List it works. |
Ok, I guess I misunderstood. The Write function is the same in Duplicate and Write so, it has to be the Read function.
Have you let this go for say 15 or more minutes just to see if it actually is doing something? |
Yes, I let it go for at least an hour, but remember I can't get out of Microstudio after I select "Start Duplicating" or "Test Your CD Before Writing" Once I select one of these buttons the Preparing for Duplication box appears for a second, then the Dupicating Disc box appears but nothing happens. Now I can't get out of Duplicating Disc function or Microstudio unless I use task manager and end task however I cannot open Microstudio until I restart my computer.........If I choose cancel in thr Duplicating Disc box my computer is froze nothing will respond not even task manager, I have to power down to quit.
ddouglass.... one other thing on the read function, doesn't it read in the "Import Tracks" function? and that works OK. |
That is a different type of Read. When you Import it is reading by specific tracks (locations). When you Duplicate it doesn't look at tracks but reads by sectors in contiguous order and creates an image file with a CGI extension. Is there a file with that extension in the Temp folder?
|
ddouglass..this is the file that I get in the temp folder after every try
Image.CDI CDI File 0 KB |
So it is at least creating the file, but not reading the disc.
You don't have another drive you could try this with do you? I am running out of ideas!! :e |
Sorry I Can't help you
