I have never used it. I used microsoft publisher to make a Company flyer, and have that for wallpaper. Any time a song isn't playing, my face and brochure is in front of the audience. Real good exposure. I have had them calling me from memorizing the number on the screen.

I see, I have used another laptop and video switch to show anything (pictures, ads, videos, etc) on a big screen even during songs sometimes. The singer's monitor always shows the words though. I haven't started to use Hoster yet, prepared to go with it on Feb. 12, however.

Ok....... but my way, you only need 1 laptop, and no need for the video switch.

Experiment..... it goes a long way.

Yes, I see, but can you play complete videos, slideshows of performers while they sing on a different big screen across the room at the same time? All this on microsoft word, wow!?

And to add, I take pictures of singers, have them downloaded and put them up at the very end of the song,(or during their song on a bigscreen) all while the singer is singing, and maybe even put it to simple slideshow mixed in
with their previous performances. Showed an elvis impersonator's picture once along side a video of elvis on the Ed Sullivan show, kept his picture on top of video. Some ppl request I play a video(of the song they are singing) while they sing and they try to get ppl pumped up and on the dance floor

Well,
I guess you will find out when you start doing the shows. It is nice to offer all this, but at the rates they pay around here for a 4 hour show, that is hauling around a lot of equipment, and jumping through a lot of hoops, that will get you nowhere. I find the customers would rather have you stay on the mixing board and make them sound good rather than play around wiht videos and such.

I even bought a vocal enhancer that keeps the singers in tune, But it really isnt worth the Hassle. I just play, and let them sing, and they are happy.

This new mixing board I have doesnt have an echo or reverb built in. So the wireless mic users which are on the board (wired mics go thru karaoke machine echo) dont get any echo. What's a good solution to that w/o spending a whole lot for a 341-program rackmount echo/reverb unit.

Peavey deltaeffects. about $100.00 most kjs I know use it. I dont know if it will work with your application tho. it will plug into most mixers

Does the 1/4"-RCA out of the wireless mic receiver plug into the delay unit and the delay unit plugs into the mic input on the mixer?

gduns - with the Lord January 31st, 2006 01:30 PM

The effects unit usually plugs into the Aux in and aux return. and the mic gets its echo adjusted with the aux return control. there is usually one for each mic channel. I have one, I used to use with an old behringer mixer before I got the Mackie with built in effects. It works pretty well.
