I disagree Bryan. Are you the Webmaster?
Here is the post that proves that someone has some control over it.

It has just been activated, and is not yet fully functional. We need a wider point spread to make it more useful so "wanton" use by even visitors won't damage someone's "repuation power".
Might I suggest that if the Rep Power is to still be turned on, then can it only be allowed to give credit to the post that does solve the problem at hand. But thinking about it again, sometimes you do not get an acknowledgement of it.
Also any member of the MTU team should not be allowed to be included to receive Rep Power, just overlook how it is working.

George, you beat me in the post. :)

It is a good thing that you did. You got very good education about not only what the icons are, but also the pro's and con's about their use.
Glad you were almost sorry, not completely sorry.

Re: Curiosity

If MTU will allow it, here ia a link that will settle all arguments in the thread.http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html
It shows how the points are earned and how they can be set.
It also states some reasons as to why it is not highly recommended.
The Rep Power is an option that can be turned on or off and also be edited by the adminintrator of this website, MTU.

It shows how the points are earned and how they can be set.
It also states User reputation can be a derisive element of your forum so great care should be taken before a decision is made to enable it. .
So you see Rep Power is an option that can be turned on or off and also be edited by the adminintrator of this website, MTU. This is right from the horses mouth

I could not edit the duplicate post because of a connection failure.

Re: Curiosity

There has been much debate over the rep points and they may have been removed while MTU decides whether it is a good idea or not in the long run. So long as MTU continues to value our input on their products, I don't mind one way or another whether rep points are given. MTU's commitment to quality is the cornerstone of their corporate philosophy, so it is inconceivable they will ever stop asking for our feedback.

ADMIN has control over this. He found Yesterday, that with that turned on it was slowing the Forums to a crawl. He disabled it so the forums came back up to speed.
