Re: hic-cupped and out of sync

Re: hic-cupped and out of sync
i've tried disabling my anti virus and enabling didnt do any good. i just did a deep scan on my registry found 9 problems which has been fixed ( reg. mech. ) i am now in the process of defragmenting my regisrty..no good, i thought i got it fixed but a 1:42sec. left on the song it started to get audio drop-outs again, it used to get the dropouts on almost at the beginning of the song this time it started almost at the ends of a song..

Re: hic-cupped and out of sync
i removed my anti virus and i'm still getting the audio dropouts , this time it's at the outmost end of a song ( 50sec. ) i kinda noticed something at the bottom right corner of my laptop that's kinda flickering.( index, looks like a magnifying glass icon )) i clicked on it and clicked on snooze, and i am playing the 2nd song right now and no dropouts so far..i a going to re-install norton anti virus and i'll see what happens..

When you say you disabled it, try disabling it again and check the task manager and see if ccsvchst.exe is still there fluctuating from 0-50 while Hoster is running. If it is see if you can highlight it and press disable. It might not allow you to but try it. then run a song in Hoster and see if it still hic-cupped. |
Re: hic-cupped and out of sync
When or if anyone finds a solution to this problem, can you post your finding's on the forum here please? I read the forum everyday, although it's been ages since i've had a problem with hoster. The very early challenges that hoster had in it's early developing stages, makes fantastic reading. You can actually see how the software develops, and the advances it has made. But i actually keep an ongoing note book of the major problems users have had..just in case i ever run into something like this. Keep up the great work, i for one appreciate your hard work, and efforts. George

Re: hic-cupped and out of sync
i got it fixed,( i hoped ) it's some kind of indexing that's doing all this audio dropouts, i can't dis-able it i just click on snooze, played the same songs that was giving me problems over and over and i didnt get any dropouts, i re-installed my anti virus and played the same songs and no problems..just had to wait till tomorrow to try it again..right now i have to fix a friends laptop, hhd crashed, and they have a show to do thurs..

Re: hic-cupped and out of sync
Billy, go to Windows Explorer and right click on each drive. Go to properties and uncheck indexing. Do this for your external too. That should stop all indexing.

i'm getting audio dropouts again, i thought i had it fixed by clicking on snooze on indexing, i tried unchecking the indexing on all the drives, still the same ..i now re-checked the indexing box, and once it's done indexing i'll play some songs and i'll see what gives.. |
Re: hic-cupped and out of sync
I leave mine off as it will continually try to index, specially for external drives. Snooze will only work for a short time.

Re: hic-cupped and out of sync
just got it fixed, i don't know which of these things did the trick., i de-frag hhd/ registry, i disabled indexing both on c: & f: drives, uninstalled - re-installed audio drivers then update drivers, mostly did everything i did before...but now it's working no more audio dropouts...:)just in time for a back to back private gig..( sat.sun)
