Yes i have done a system restore... and no that is not my problem... i tried some things today with it and played a video on my computer screen... that played fine(with windows media player) when i tried to drag it to my TV screen the video picture disappears but keeps on playing with the sound but no picture on the TV. so also when i play a video by using hoster video button (not instabutton) there is sound but no video on the TV screen...
now for the instabutton problem--- all of the videos play in the intermission space but sometimes they take up my computer screen also... and it does not matter if they are small or large vidoes short in time or long in playing time. |
Have you checked your video settings from the windows control panel ?
First right click a blank on a blank area of your computer screen. From the window that pops up click properties, then settings. Now look for the advanced tab and click that. At the top you should see a tab for your graphics card click that. Now on my system I have Gforce graphics card and a window opens to the left with several choices. Click on "Full screen video" you should see a window open with a box with a drop down arrow, if it is set to "Auto" change it to "Disable" then click apply. Now go back to to the side window and click "video overlay settings", in the box window there make sure it reads "video overlay". Then click OK. If your graphics card is a different brand you may not be able to follow these instructions exactly, but I think it is to do with the way your graphics card is set up. The only other thing as has already been mentioned, when it is playing in full screen on your laptop try double left clicking the picture to see if it goes back to normal. Roy. |
i am just wondering, if you have your comp. set on the other way around ,i dont know if this will work , try going on setting, then click on display ( make sure extend display is checked ) and click on "identify" your comp. should be # 1, and your singers display should be # 2
|
Check if your display 2 (TV display for audience ) is on extended display mode. Checked the resolution of your Computer Display and Tv Display ( preferably make them both 1024 by 768 pixel) or make display 1 (computer screen) 1024 by 768 pixel and display 2 (TV for audience)800 x 600 pixel.
See if this will help you. Display 1 is your Computer screen Dispaly 2 is your Tv for Audience |

With WMP and Hoster not showing Videos on the secondary monitor tells me that this has got to be a video card setting or it doesn't have the capability to do so. Have you used any Videos (not in Instabuttons before in Hoster and they show up on the second monitor? What is the Video card on your computer? When you last did your updates from Microsoft was there a hardware update for the video card? |

I am having the same poblem as moonglow, I upgraded three of my pc's to 4.11 one of them work just fine, the other two everything works fine on the tv, the marquee, singers name, and the video is where it should be but, I get a full screen on my pc's and have no control on Hoster. It seems that two programs are runing at the same time!

Jim we have never gotten an answert out of Moonglow as to what version he is using of Hoster, but since you are using 4.11 there are a couple things you can try.
One is go to the Show Display and make sure the Preview is set as Docked, close Hoster and re-open it. Second got to Tools/Options and click the "Reset Display" button. These should put the Preview window back in its corner. Then try some videos and see if they behave. If you normally use the preview undocked and resized, then try doing that again and see if the videos balloon to fill the whole screen again. |
Thanks for the comeback but No dice ddouglass, that didn't work I am using the wmp format dat on my video tracks in Hoster, what I don't understand why it will work on one but not the other two unless it's the video card the video card that is working is an nvidia. The two that don't work are Ati Radeon HD 3800 Series and I am also running Windows XP.
|
That is strange usually the problems appear with Nvidea. I am using at least 4 different ATI Radeon cards and have not seen this at all.
|
I solved my problem on the radeon video card, the nvidia card seems to work ok. If you have the nvidia video card you have to make sure your card is in full screen setting this seems to work ok. On the radeon card if you click on the factory default setting it should work just fine it does for me. Spent a lot of time to find out all I had to do was click the default button!!!
|
That's good to hear Jim. Hopefully this will help to fix any others that come up with this. I guess I have never changed my ATI cards from Default settings, so never saw this problem.
Thanks for letting us know. |

Have you tried Jim Sargeant's fix?
|
If Moonglow would let us know what windows, video card and Hoster program he is using it would help a whole lot. I am also using wmp-dat format to put my videos on the hard drive, all my computers are now working fine with the Hoster Program, You Go MTU!!!!:g

I am using a Radeon X600 video card ... and no i have not tried his fix but i will as soon as poss... i will let you know if it works...
