I also just bought a new laptop from them with XP and I paid $1100, but I also maxed out the hard drive size and memory along with getting some software from them.

Is Dell the best choice if I am stuck with Vista? How much Ram, procesor, Ihave about 600 Gigs used up on my external drive and would like to keep my mp3 and kma files all together to switch back from DJ to KJ on same computer. Do I also need a terabyte inteadd of the 750 gig external drive I already have? Id like to buy it from a retaler if possible so I can have it ready for a thursday show.

In my opinion Dell is a good choice, i have 4 Dell pc's and 3 Dell laptops, havent had problems with them, and they are easy to work with in terms of replacing hhd's and memories, if you used up 600g out of the 700 that you have, my adviced is to go ahead and get the 1 terabyte, and if youre leaning towards getting a Dell pc/laptop, like Dale said they're still selling xp, i would get that instead of vista..

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to do it right away. I can't wait to get XP back in my hands. This is the first time I have really explored mtu community. Its great to get this info since its not available directly from a support team. I have always loved Hoster but was always frustrated with trying to get quick response from them. This forum is very valuable to all Hoster customers.
Thanks again,
Ed

from what i read, there's only 1 tech support that is trying to help everybody, the best way to get to them is to submit a ticket and i think they have an emergency email support if you really need to get your show going..those guys are so busy trying to give us what are we are asking for..just give them a chance and they will get to you..

I've been trying to get all of the tweaks taken care of. I will defrag later tonight.
