When we buy PC's to run hoster what don't we need to run a show Karaoke and DJ?

What I'm talking is, I've got paint in my pc do I need that. Will my show run without it?

I have culled a lot of what I consider garbage for a KJ & DJ pc. I know enough to be very dangerous, but not enough to be safe. I am appealing to my knowledged bretheran to guide me. I notice a lot of problems concerning especially vista has to do with speed problems and I do know the less that pc has to do the easier it can handle hoster.

Anyone ever make a list of what we don't need and still run hoster.

I don't put my pc's online unless needed, I don't use paint, wordpad, notepad, ect. I use them for music.

What the heck can be deleted and still have a good operating system for hoster?

Here are the 11 vista features you can disable right now ( Per PC World )

1). Sidebar
2). Aero
3). Assorted Beautification Option
4). Remote Assistance
5). Internet Printing Client
6).Windows Meeting Place
7).Windows Ultimate Extra ( Available for Vista Ultimate Users Only )
8).ReadyBoost
9).Search Indexing ( Turning off indexing will help your pc's performance only if you seldom search by file content, or if you use 3rd party search tool )
10). Offline Files ( Vista Business & Ultimate Edition, Not included with Home Vista Edition )
11). Windows Error Reporting Services

Thanks BillyO, maybe we can get these Vista machines usuable afterall. My Gateway only runs 2048 of RAM and does fairly well with what I had done before this discussion and I have freed up so much since it was started. Figuring I use it for backup, but have used it to make sure it can.

This little machine, has over 9000 mp3s and 9000 kma's on the hard drive. I am actually looking fwd to giving it a test drive the week after next. I rotate locations with my other KJs.
