out of sync

I'm ready to give up. Upgraded to Hoster 4.06 on main computer, and Hoster Lite 4.06 on second computer. Both systems are XP. Can't get either computer to syncronize lyrics with the music. Lyrics go SLOWER than the music. Tried anything I could find on MTU website, but nothing has worked so far. Do I have to find a way to convert both systems back to a 3.04 version? HELP!!!!

Did you check the Manual for answers to your specific questions? There's more there than on the website. .NET 3.0 is also needed and don't forget to upgrade your graphics card to handle all the new features Hoster has to offer. Some people have also found that WMP-9 works better on their machine. WMP-11 is not required for XP.

out of sync.

Yes. They are both on automatic upgrades

Tried everything on the Manual. What is NET?

:) Not meaning this in a mean way, but if you tried everything in the manual you would know to do all updates for windows. Not just auto updates. There is something about the hardware accelerator in the manual as well, that may help. Try setting your Color Quality to 16b instead of 32b. That has fixed the issue for quite a few. Make sure you turn off uneeded services as well. Dont give up. You will love this new version. :r

MTU recommends "Custom" rather than just "automatic" to be sure you get everything. I'm not good at explaining .NET Framework, but it is from Microsoft also. Your machine must already have 1.0 and 2.0 and then it needs 3.0, but not 3.5. Also, check the "Troubleshooting" section of the Manual. That may also help.:)

Try all the above first. Changing the graphics card from 32 to 16bit was only suggested to Vista users. I don't think anyone had to do that on XP:r

My question would be will those that have it now still have it to use as backup or will future upgrades delete it entirely?

We don't have a hard reason to remove 3.40 for some time. :w

psinkiws, you wrote a book! :g

It will take some time to process all your points. Dale D has done a great job on some of them.

As to the right clicking to edit, if you think about it, if we kept left click as we did before, you couldn't click-n-drag a track up/down the Playlist like you can now. We also changed the order of the fields in each track in the Playlist to meet user demands, including our Beta Testers. No, right clicking is not explicit (intuitive). It does require reading in the manual. I hope I made it clear early in the manual. I'll check it and change it if not.

The question here is how much memory on each of the computers? I won't try to go back over what has been said by the others as they have given you some suggestions to try and get it right.
Instead of reverting back to 3.04, have you tried version 3.4 that is included with your 4.06? Find it in C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster folder. The file is named Hoster34.exe. You can create a shortcut for it and put it on your desktop.
Automatic Updates only get the ones deemed by Microsoft to be critical security updates. That is why you need to go to Microsoft's Update website and do all of the updates using the "Custom" button instead of Express.

Was reading this post and I found it pretty informative and somewhat helpful. I have noticed since updating to 4.xxx I have seen alot of graphic/sync problems as well. This is mainly when trying to add a song from a singers disc during a show. It used to load flawlessly while singers were singing but now it causes pauses and slow graphics and you need to shut down MTU and restart. I used to smile and say no problem when someone brought in their own disc, now I cringe. For now when someone insists on using their own disc version of a song, I just play a song on windows media player while hoster is loading the Karaoke disc and then restart hoster to be sure there will be no problems. It wastes show time, but it is better than all the problems that follow loading a cd.

I am currently going through and double checking that all the new suggested settings are met. Hoping that I find something left checked on in system settings or video settings that is causing this. Also getting ready to bump up from 1.5 to 4 gig of ram on XP pro. (yes I know Xp only recognizes between 3-3.8gig depending on your computer) This new ram is much faster than the old, hopefully this will help as well.

I know you guys are trying hard to keep everyone happy. Vista has done nothing but destroy how smoothly hoster runs. Soon, vista will go in the garbage can (like windows ME did) and they will have that new OS done with beta testing. Then we will see all of these problems go away hopefully.

Are you still having problems with it with 4.08? We4 haven't had any sync problems with importing since upgrading.

dspins March 13th, 2009 11:38 PM

I just now updated to 4.08. I haven't even tested it out yet.
