the graphic driver i'm using i have had a while and seems to be the only one that works ok.

As i said in earlier thread, try reduce hardware accelaration (xp) and set marqee to "no scroll" may help, but hey one of the best features of H4 is the scrollin' marquee LOL.

If you find a resolve please share ! :)

Thanks
Dave.

Dave,

I can run show after I reset ( RESTART or STOP/PLAY ) the first song. ONLY FIRST SONG IN PLAYLIST will be out of sync if I do this restart procedure while the first song is playing. Last show (FRI) was the first time I ran 4.06 on my show computer, and with all the other 4.xx upgrades I got in the habit of restarting the first song and almost all sync problems, and computer crashes were eliminated ( did recommended changes like using 16 bit color, and video card driver update also), but Friday I got excited and started the show without restarting the first song ( My Warm Up ) that I generally do to test the microphone settings, and monitors, and my larynx! The old forgotten issue with lyric sync popped up and I had to have my assistant/girlfriend restart the song, and shazzam back in sync the rest of the night. (4.04 & 4.05 ) had been steady after said fixes were done in previous versions. My big question is why does the restart of first song fix my sync issue, and then not have any problems for the rest of the show?:?

Like you, I always perform 1st song as a sound check / warm up, I guess most kJ's do.

I have never tried this ( RESTART or STOP/PLAY ) thing you do with 1st song, and yeh, that is a propper mystery :? I will fire up my laptop as soon as poss' and have a go with the tip's you have suggested, i hope it works for me also, I will try it in 16bit also.

When you say 16bit, do you mean display 1 (laptop) or display 2 (laptop's TV's out), or all display's, please let me know ?

Do you have 64mb shared video memory also ?

Thanks for your help Rick :)

Right click on empty space on your desktop and select properties. Under the settings tab you should see color quality. Set it to 16-bit. You won't notice any difference, but your video card sure will.

I cant believe 4x runs fine but not on my laptop:f I'm gonna have to decide what to do now ie: upgrade my laptop or go desk/rack for shows.

Laptops are just so small and simple bearing in mind all the other equipment needed, but hey, at least i can still do shows with 3.4 untill i decide what to do.

Thanks for your help bro' :)

The problem is some laptops have such poor CPU Types and speeds that they just don't have the power to run Windows XP/Vista.

We sell Laptops that are tested to insure Hoster runs. You can look at our specs to get an idea if you want to try to "roll your ow"... just don't complain if you buy elsewhere and it doesn't work well.

The problem is we have tried to meet everyone's needs, and that demands a lot of compute power.

Then there is Vista......... it is garbage. It takes WAY TOO MUCH compute power and RAM. XP is not as bad, but keeps growing also.

Yes Dave, I'm also running 64mb shared on my show computer, and that is where I'm sure my sync problem lies! Try the 16bit color, it is hard to distinguish a difference, I have been running both displays at 16bit, I figure anything that doesn't affect the quality of the graphics, and allows the computer to use less of its video resources should help the lyric sync issue. I hope the restart corrects your sync issue also. I will use it until I am able to replace my show computer. I am waiting for a computer bargain that will handle all the planned video features that MTU has in store for Hoster, and all Vista OS issues have been stabilized! Until then I will restart the first song prior to starting the show, if that is all I need to do in order to run the features I'm running now. ( Marquee, Singers Rotation, and Personal Logo at Intermission Screen!) Good Luck to you also!

Omg !

Thanks for your help guy's, changing to 16 bit has made a BIG differnce !

Lyrics sweep much more smoothly now, and seem to be slightly ahead of the audio, but hey, thats much better than lagging behind.

Is there any way of slowing lyrics down slightly to fine tune it ?

Also i tried this (stop, start / restart ) thing you do Rikki, but can't say it made any noticable difference on my system, but i will do it anyway at the start of a show just in case it helps.

My next show in on Friday, (big club lots of peope) and i'm gonna go for it with 4.06, as i'm pretty sure it's gonna be ok now.

Thanks people.
Dave.

PS Don't ya just love those instabuttons :)

Try changing the hardware acceleration back to what you had it and see if that will center it better.
