Anyone out there answer this question?
Will 3.40 work without SP3? Just asking. I would assume that it would. If so then Billyo, this may be the answer to upgrading from 3.317.:c

just downloaded the demo version of 4.4 on my test pc which still has sp1 on it and it ran great, it was slow at first, till i got the hang of it, the only problem i had was out of my 4 cd/dvd drive only 2 of them now can read/write cdg's, all 4 used to be able to, and importing disc was great on my plextor 716 ,took a few min. to import, the other one took a while, i started importing a disc, after 3 imported songs, it stop and i got a msg" can only play 90 sec. of ea. songs ( which i knew ) but i wasnt able to import the whole disc. (9 tracks), but anyway thanks for the reply..

Used 4.04 tonight

I used the new 4.04 tonight at a small three hour show that turned in to like five hours not complaining was great!!!!! The show ran very quickly no hang ups with the cue or play buttons ran like a dream set it on auto because all my singers knew who they where after tonight and let it roll. Everybody was extremly happy with the show I was extremely excited because everything played without having to open another application tonight. Video worked with no problems as did audio. BRAVO MTU YOU HIT THE NAIL ON the HEAD WITH THIS ONE...:c:c:c iF ANYBODY HAS ANY DOUBTS ABOUT THIS DOWNLOAD PUT THEM ASIDE...:t:t:t 4.04 IS WONDERFUL AND WORRY FREE. :g:g:g:g I had more time to spend goofing off with my customers tonight,, and they loved that I was able to spend some quility time with them, dancing and singing. The only time I had to touch the computer was just to put new songs into the rotation.:w:w:w:w

Hey Fran,
I have found that Hoster 4 is too cool to run a show with and your post here proves it to all! :c

You bring up a very important point about running in auto mode and "letting it roll". This is how auto mode should be used. If a show is run in auto mode, the KJ should not be stopping and starting every other song or so. This is what manual mode is for.

Like anything else, we have to learn how to run Hoster 4 just like we learend how to drive a car or a boat. Being a beta tester I beat on Hoster 4.0X REAL hard. One thing I disovered is if I ran a show in auto mode and I just let it roll, I never had a problem. If I am in auto mode and run the program like I'm in manual mode, things got weird (sync stuff).

When a karaoke host runs their show in auto mode, they should let Hoster 4 do all of the stopping and starting of the tracks. (Of course you will have to stop the show to go home or GOD knows what else and this is fine.)

Lesson: Do not run a show by stoping and starting the tracks manually when you are in auto mode.

I use manual mode so I can run my big mouth between songs. :t

Thanks Again!

Right on Jim but most of us like to run our big mouths between songs it's our nature Still have a little time even in auto to crack a joke or say something stupid I have it set where there is at least a few seconds to get my two cents in there between song while the next singer is coming up to sing and believe me I even have time to put my foot in my mouth on some occassion, ever tell a joke where the crowd sounds ;like a bunch of crikets yeap been there done that!!!

You are right as host /entertainers we have to find our own way of working the program some prefer Manual I personally perfer the auto gives me less time to embrass myself :s(lol) We have a Kj here that tells some dozzies but we love him anyway!!!We don't tell him of course because he does such a great job of entertaining, just wish I could talk him into the upgrade he is one of the stubbon ones that sticks with the original.

I've tried to run my shows in auto mode many times, setting the wait time and never touching the stop or start button (I do that at home) but the places I work have porches and pool rooms for folks to get lost in. It never fails, I call somebody who is not in the room and I have to get my next singer up which means stopping the program somehow. I'll have a few folks be out of the room and Hoster will be trucking right along as my singers do not show up. This causes me to get in a hurry which makes me start hitting buttons real fast and moving songs on the playlist quickly. Too much program activity going on at one time. :e If I'm real lucky there will be somebody wanting to sign up right as this is happening. :e :r

Manual mode works best for me. :)

We all have to adapt to our surrounding and Hoster 4.04 helps makes this a breeze. :w

Good Night Fran!
