Mike, I just seem to have that kind of luck. If it can go wrong it will. I had to end up with Vista after the new laptop I ordered from Dell had many major problems and they replaced it with an upgraded unit with Vista. I love the new XPS M1530 over old Inspiron 1525. But I still hate Vista. I would load XP into it but no drivers in XP to run CD/DVD drive, cam, and other devices.

I have a Xp computer.

What Is going on here are we not allowed to touch or fix the database any more?

It depends on how you fixed the database. If you did it through Access and not through the Hoster Edit then none of the changes you made were saved to the KMA headers, so when you rebuild the database none of those changes will be there.
Hoster Edit may be slower but it does update both the KMA header and the database.

There are a couple driver programs/locations mentioned in this thread that could help with getting the correct drivers. http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?t=10354 I haven't had a chance to try either but it solve some problems for those who posted it.

Hi ddouglass

I'm not trying to fix the Kma header that will take me to long and Hoster has no ability to fix problems with disc ID like lets say you have a space before the Disc ID or change a long ID from LGVOL.161-01 to LG161-01.

What I use to do is through access fix all these problems in no time at all do a global check of all my listing save them and copy database back to Hoster folder and then every listing would show up orderly on my search tables In Hoster 4.1 and before.

Now since I installed 4.2 in my computer and had to remove it and the converted song files is because it would not play a lot of my files HDMP3G even after letting it complete it's file conversion with no errors.

Now I Have a problem with Hoster 4.1 after reinstalling and rebuilding my song database.

I went to fix the mess through access like I did before copy database back to Hoster folder.

Start up Hoster program and it just starts to rebuild my song files again before it starts the program leaving me with the mess again.

Another thing I can't import any songs through Hoster 4.1 any more I have to use 3.4 Hoster 4.1 and 3.4 wont play all my files when it did before.

It's behaving like 4.2 although I replaced the song folder with my original backup song files.

I was so embarrassed and humiliated when a lot of the requested songs loaded normally in to the playlist but error out at play one after the other in my show last Friday.:m:m:m:m:m:m:m:m:m:m:m:m:m:m:m:m:m:m:m:m

I melted through the floor with no place to hide and a place full of people.

It's a very hard job to become poppular and do good work and so easy to
lose it.

It's not my fault or my computer or my updates or my files My Hoster 4.1 was working well enough to do my shows without any problems like i'm having now.

This all started when I installed hoster 4.2 last thursday and this I am certain.

I recieved no concrete answers to fix this problem that I didn't cause the only thing I seen was a statment made by admin that only two people had this problem. Very Good I Guess Problem Solved.

How do you explain what has happen why cant I use Hoster 4.1 like I use to? Please

Joe...

And when you rebuild the database ALL of the changes you made through Access are going to be gone because the information in the KMA Header is still the incorrect data. That includes the DiscIDs you correct that way. No the edit tool cannot fix DiscIDs, Track Numbers or BookIDs because these are indexing keys. To fix/change any of those you have to delete the disc through edit and then re-import. Yes this is a pain, which means you need to be absolutely sure of having the correct information in place before you import.

My guess on this is you were editing and saving back to the C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster\Databases or you saved it in the wrong format (should be Access 97).

Best advice I can offer is this. Uninstall Hoster, delete the contents of C:\MTU\Hoster and C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster. If you bought the Upgrade then re-install your previous version then re-install 4.01. That will clean out any gremlins. It will again rebuild the database but you have already lost all of your changes from Access anyway.

Joe Admin was not telling you they weren't looking at trying to fix your main problem. None of the problems posted about 4.02 in the forums have gone unnoticed and shoved under the rug. You may think so because they haven't come back immediately with an answer. Nor have done that for any of the other problems posted. We (Jim, Sam and others) try to help find out if it is a problem only with your computer, be it software or hardware. At the same time MTU's people are looking at Hoster to see if they can find and fix any bug that can be causing this. This takes time because of the size and complexity of the program.
MTU has already announced in the forums that they are going to go back to the old lyrics portion of the program to stop having to interface with WMP and IE for that. This has to be tested by them and then Beta tested and when it all works will be released.

Joe,
You may have a second database somewhere on your computer that Hoster 4.02 is finding.

1. Unistall Hoster

2. Windows search for Hioster

3. Delete all Hoster folders found

4 Reinstall Hoster

Have you tried this? If so hang in there, 4.03 Beta1 should be released for testing later today. A release date isn't far off once the Beta testers get their hands on it (4.03). :w :c
