All I can say is use 3.4 if you are worried about it and wait for MTU to come out with 4.03

4.02 Crashing During Show

Hey Guys and Gals,
Had the same problems last night with Hoster 4.02 crashing. Show ran fine for almost three hours. and right before the last hour, got the "hoster stopped responding and needed to close" message. Upon re-opening, the lyrics and music was way out of sync. Only to close after a song or two. I'd open and close it and sometimes it would run for a song or two and sometimes the lyrics would be in sync...but it was strictly hit or miss. I had tried to revert back to 3.4 after the first problems, but it wouldn't work....something about no song path, so that was no help. I've read about the one guy with problems reverting back to 4.1. Somehow, this morning I'm able to use 3.4 (would'a sure been nice last night). Wondering if it will be short lived, as 4.02 worked for a long time before the problems. Any suggestions would be appreciated shy of keeping my fingers crossed for tonight....I've already got that covered. BTW, Vista Ultimate (that's why I wanted 4.02 in the first place), 3mb RAM, Core 2 processor....Nvidea 8400. Everything up to date on the windows and drivers.
Thanks In Advance,
Darryl

3.4 is having problems reading playlist entries made by 4.02.
If you had re-entered the song after opening 3.4 they would have worked fine.

This is being fixed as we speak.

Sam, what your saying is that if I scrap the playlist of singers on the screen and enter them again from within 3.4, I should be good to go?

Playlist error going from 4.02 to 3.40

That workaround will work until the bug is fixed by 4.03 !!!

Thanks

Man, thanks guys for the help. Wish I would have done that last night. I had even did a re-boot to no avail. Didn't think the list was the problem.

I'm just gonna run 3.4 tonight and hopefully all will be well like it used to be when I downloaded 4.01 and was running 3.4 inside of it waiting for 4.02.

Thanks Again,
Darryl

Tunn off the Marquee and the SND on the preview screen.

Turn off the Marquee on the Lyrics screen but leave the SND on.

Leave the Marquee and the SND running on the Intermission screen

This is how my show displays are setup.

I hope this helps.

How do I turn off the Marquee and the SND? I don't seem to be able figure this out. I think it is the "turn off" that may be getting me.
Can't find anything that says disable or turn off. I did find a "hide".

Tools/show display - Hide marquee and singers in the lyrics screen tab and preview screen tab. In the intermission screen tab uncheck the box that says "always on - click this off..."
That should turn everything off.

Each of the three screens ( Lyric, Intermission, & Preview ) i.e. Tabs will have a Hide feature that you can check to turn off that segment, or uncheck to let it show as part of that screens display. Snd is the same as the Singers ( Upcoming singer rotation ) bottom segment of 4.02 which is labeled SND in 3.4.

Play around with the features, and see how the appearance changes on the monitors. Jim is giving you his ideas on how to set up your screens. I used his suggestions myself for my show!

Problem with 4.02 convert HDZIP popup

when i first installed Hoster 4.02 the popup converted all my hdzips after a lot errored. I deleted all the hdzips kma that errored. I restarted Hoster and the popup asked to convert all the files again, anyway I oked and it converted all my files again. This would go on and on and on everytime I opened Hoster. Also i get a message half way in between the conversion "Cannot alocate windows memory" Like I said this happens everytime I open hoster. Driving me crazy.

Second and the biggest problem. after playing a couple songs, Hoster crashes. Right after opening hoster it would crash also. Hoster 3.4 works perfect though. I have uninstalled and installed Hoster and it still crashes every song or two. Now using 3.4.

I tried 4.02 again tonight for about an hour, kept hanging up.
One thing I noticed is that it works almost perfect at home, until I plug in the extended monitor on the job. That is when I have trouble. Slow, hangs up and sometimes I add a book-Id and singers name and nothing happens.
I have XP Pro (Changed it from Vista), Video card is "Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family". Works perfect with 3.4.

The file that it stops on when the error for "Cannot alocate windows memory" is also bad. It was discovered by Laddie that the zip could not even be opened.

3.4 is already on your computer. Look under your hooster file for hooster34. Put a shortcut on your desk top and your ready to go.

3.4 saved the night

Hey Guys and Dolls,
Just an update....ran the show last night with 3.4 and all went well. What a comforting feeling knowing there weren't 57 people waiting for me to "do something". Thanks again for the work-around using 3.4. I'll just wait till 4.03 comes out....and then wait some more to make sure it is "crash free".

Imagine how bad you feel when your system doesn't work when you have people waiting in line to sing that haven't paid a dime to get on the list.

Now imagine you are MTU.
Thanks for your patience:)
