I installed 4.01, still have the same problem.

ddouglass July 20th, 2008 04:51 PM

Are you still getting the script error or is it just the missing lyrics?

Ray Owens July 20th, 2008 10:14 PM

No Lyrics with 4.01

I have the same issues here, Reloaded a couple times and still no lyrics. I loaded my old load 3.321 and all is fine.

ddouglass July 20th, 2008 10:44 PM

Ray the version 4 install also has the 3.4 Hoster which is the 3.321. Go to the Hoster folder under the Program files and you will find Hoster34.exe along with Hoster.exe. Create a shortcut for Hoster34.exe and put it on your desktop and you can use it from there. That way you will be able to work on helping find the problem with your lyrics display and have a working version to do your shows.

Thank You very much. That works fine. I am running again.

Yes I still get the script error as well

ddouglass July 21st, 2008 08:55 AM

laddie, I have flagged this thread so MTU should look at this today and see if they can figure it out or find the bug. Your listing all of the error message in your early post will be a great help to them in finding it.

laddie July 21st, 2008 12:15 PM

Early this morning, I did a reinstall of xp and brought the system back to SP2. Reloaded IE 7. and reloaded 4.1...Works now. No errors and i get lyrics. Tonight i am going to reload sp3 and see what happens.

ddouglass July 21st, 2008 01:33 PM

Did you reload WMP 11 or leave it at WMP9?

laddie July 21st, 2008 01:37 PM

No it's still at 9. I will load 11 and test it again before I load sp3

ddouglass July 21st, 2008 03:30 PM

Don't load WMP11 and do load SP3. According to MTU you do not need WMP 11 or 12 unless you are running Vista. This is from the programmers who went back and checked the code to make sure.

laddie July 21st, 2008 03:45 PM

Thanks, I will do that.

Not fair:f:f:f I wrote about what was needed prior to upgrading to 4.0 & was told it was absolutely necessary to upgrade WMP9 to WMP11. OK, I still haven't installed 4.0 or 4.01, sooooooooooo, which is it? 9 or 11:? Should I uninstall 11 and put 9 back in before installing 4.0?????????
:e:rGee, maybe they should have waited longer to put out 4.0 ??? :e:r

sorry. you're probably kinda annoyed at me now, but don't you think they ( programmers ) need to take a second look on sp3 too ? or sp3 is really necessary that without it hoster wont run ..sorry

Ray Owens July 21st, 2008 05:32 PM

No Lyrics and script errors

Am I reading this correct? A reload of XP with updates and using SP2 will correct may issues with 4.01 of no lyrics and script errors ?

Skybird74 July 21st, 2008 05:36 PM

:?If SP2 is better (than SP3) on XP, will "System Restore" work? Sure don't want to uninstall and/or start all over:f :e:?

laddie July 21st, 2008 07:12 PM

Please understand that just because it has ,so far, worked so far for me, does not mean that it will fix everything. Since everyones system configurations are diffferent it is really hard to say if any one thing caused my problem. I plan to be methodical try to find what caused my problems. I let you know how that works

No you don't need to back it out. It will work with anything from WMP 9 and above. Vista does come with WMP 11 or 12, so they are having to make sure it will work with that.

Those who are having the lyrics missing and getting the script error, the missing lyrics is because of the script error that is causing that frame to not show. What Laddie is saying as I have tried to say is every system is different. Those who are having this problem have something either missing or corrupted that is causing this. Laddie is re-installing here whole system from scratch to get this fixed. Sometimes drastic measures have to be done to recover. If it was the same with my show machine I would do exactly the same thing since I have very little loaded on that computer and it would fairly quick to do. Installing a backup or a second loaded hard drive will not acomplish this because the incorrect item would still be there.
SP3 is not necessary to run Hoster 4.01, but we did find during beta testing that it fix some minor problems, probably by installing some update that had been missed. It has always been the recommendation to keep your computers up-to-date. That means all updates.
