Disc's that won't work in Hoster...

The 3 disc's that I have that won't load into Hoster, they are still listed in my books and I bring them to the gig! I've been lucky so far that the people who sing any of those songs, know the words, so they don't need to see the lyrics on the screen. I have a one space Karaoke player on order that I'm going to add to my rack to play them on. I already had one, but strange enough, those disc's didn't play on that player either, so that's why I had to order another one! The disc's do play on all of my old
JVC players, but the JVC's are too big for my rack....as I only have one
space left in it! Such a hassle....all for 3 disc's! Oh, well!

As I recall from those days, MediaQloqued disks would not play in a DVD/CDG type player, maybe that was the problem with your last player. I bought a DVD/CDG player that specificly claimed to work with these disks but it didn't.

These disks are rippable, I'd look around the internet for a solution. It used to be just a select few cdroms would rip them but maybe that has changed.

I re-loaded them when I got home, however, I read the forums and the new upgrade should be able to correct this! I also have 3 Sound Choice disc's #8710, 8713 & 8732 that just won't load (even with my last upgrade) and I was hoping that the new 4.0 will fix that, because I put in an order for a single drawer karaoke machine (at our local Karaoke store), and if I don't have to buy that, then that would be real nice....don't need more bulk...and that was the purpose of getting the whole computer in the first place!!!!!

Have you tried playing those discs with Microstudio? If so you may be able to import them to the hard drive and then into Hoster.

If they will play the audio only, it may be well worth the time since it's only three discs to import the audio tracks as AUDIO, not karaoke, find the lyrics on the internet, rebuild them with Karaoke Home Producer and then import them into Hoster.

Even that would be worth not messing with them as you are.

Yes i have experenced this problem. If you are using VISTA you can not have the theme in Vista set at 'Vista Aero' For some reason this makes the lyrics out of sync. I found this correction by accident. Give it a TRY IF YOU ARE USING vISTA

Upgrading to a new version or even removing and installing it with the installer does not remove or delete your kma files or the playlist (if you have saved any) or the songs database. In other words install it, open it (it will rebuild your database to add the new fields, but will rebuild from location you had previously selected) and start playing.

I don't have Vista but I believe you can get to the themes the same way as XP. That is right click anywhere on the desktop (except on an icon) choose properties and in the dialog box that opens are several settings including the theme settings.

To turn off Vista Aero, go to control panel then to personalization icon and then to windows color and appearance. I use Windows Vista Basic with as my color scheme with no problems
