Will this still allow me to fully use all the features in Audigy Platinum (i.e, surround mixer, midi etc). What does the on-board sound represent? Just curious why disabling would make audigy okay.

Additionally, decreasing the hardware acceleration to one notch above None affects audigy, how? Thanks.

As far as I know it hasnt affected performance as far as I am concerned. I did not install all the software that came with the card yet, either, just the drivers. I will be trying that tomorrow.

Just to confirm that this fix works. I have an Audigy Platinum card and Windows XP Pro and the latest version of Microstudio. I have all the Audigy drivers and software installed and was experiencing the skipping problem. I lowered the Hardware acceleration slider to one notch above the lowest setting and Microstudio now plays fine.

Does that mean that all the software that came with Audigy have not been affected and are in working condition? Such as surround mixer, etc. And that Microstudio also plays fine? Do you also have KHPro, and if so, was that program affected?

I have everything installed for the Audigy. The only problem software is the RemoteCenter which I keep turned off because it does interfere with Microstudio. RemoteCenter will cause Microstudio to crash if you have it turned on. But that doesn't bother me since I do not use the hand held remote control at all. The only MTU software I have installed is Microstudio 2.315
