videopro,
Let me see if I got this correct, you can read, and write cd+g's, but when you try to play a CD+G your video will not allow the screen to properly display the graphics?

KJZONE,

I may have a need for that XP Aspi Checker for someone else down the road. Would you mind posting the URL here?

Thanks,

George

Videopro......

Are you trying to play a track "directly" off a CDG or trying to play a track you have extracted from a CDG to your hard drive?

Videopro January 7th, 2003 05:32 PM

Either way same results! Copy or original

kjzone January 7th, 2003 05:37 PM

Videopro......

What is the results of the AspiChecker for XP I sent you?

kjzone January 7th, 2003 05:45 PM

Videopro........

Did I recall you said you had Direct X v9.0 installed?

Very few video cards support Direct X9.0.....

Suggest if you have 9.0 installed, un-install and put Direct X 8.1a

http://www.cswing.com/downloads.html#directx

Notes on 9.0:
The DirectX 9.0 runtime cannot be uninstalled. We recommend Windows Me and Windows XP users create a "System Restore" point before installing. For information on creating a restore point, please refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles:

Kjzone,
The DirectX 9.0 is for the operating system. The Video and any other cards in the system don't have to support this for it to work. For software products to take advantage of the DX 9.0, the hardware drivers do have to support it. We are not worried about this yet. If the DX 9 is installed it will be fine, due to the fact that it has all the features that were in DX 8.1, which we require.

His problem seems to be that the drivers for his Nvidia Video card haven't been updated. (I believe) I have sent him the link to download his drivers from for his Video card. This should get him working. If not we will find out after he has done this.

The ASPI drivers only deal with Microstudio talking to the CD-R drives. These really only come into play during copying, as they don't usually give problems when playing from the CD-Rom, or at least not to the extent of the problems they cause when burning a disc.

Thanks for all your input though.

Thanks Bryan.......

I learn something new everyday......and that is what counts.

Videopro January 7th, 2003 06:16 PM

Downloaded & installed the new drivers uninstalled the old ones first, checked to see what drivers were installed when it was over-STILL NO GO. Checked the aspi layer & it's the latest. NOW WHAT???????

MTUSUPPORT January 7th, 2003 07:28 PM

Tell us what Karaoke brand and disc you are trying to play. There are some discs that we know won't correctly play yet. Also, try going into Microstudio, Click the View Menu, Click Display Mode, and then click it to the "8 Bit Fullscreen" mode. Then try it and let us know what happens.

kjzone January 7th, 2003 07:31 PM

Videopro......

What is the exact Make and Model of your video card?

kjzone January 7th, 2003 07:39 PM

Videopro......

A lot of newer Video Cards have a lot of option settings.......

Right mouse Click and select Properties.
Click on Settings.....
Chick on Advanced...
Look for any unusual setting that maybe check, reset all to Default. As a starter.

Videopro & MTU Support

NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 200

I know a lot of people have problems with this card. I believe you said you had a Dell Computer. Here is a Link from Dell regarding this card.

I tried an ATI graphics card 7200 & had the same results. So it obviously isn't the graphics card.

Is this the Drivers you downloaded.....Version 41.09?

kjzone January 7th, 2003 08:55 PM

Videopro.....

Are you saying that an older version of MicroStudio was installed on the very computer you are having problems with v2.4 and that it was running correctly and

That you merely upgrade to v2.4 and it won't run?
