View Full Version : Vogone opens too big

I just purchased Vogone 3.101, and when I click to open, the first time it opens, there's approximately an inch around the outer edge that is not visible, it is too large for the screen. I close and re-open and the second time, the viewable part is normal size. What's causing this and how do I correct it?

You need to reset your screen resolution. Sounds like you're using 800/600.

Vogone is designed to be used at 1024/768, as are most newer software programs.

Right click anywhere on a blank spot on your desktop. Click properties, settings, and move the screen resolution slider to 1024/768.

If you don't like the smaller images for normal use, it's not much to set up before running Vogone, and change it back when you're done.

Change your display size to at least 800x600. 1024x768 would be even better.

Dale,

Duplicated thread. Flagged ADMIN to delete one or the other.

On mine 860/600 is still too big so I suggested 1024/768 also.

Did that get it for you?

Yes, that works, but, if that is the problem, then why does it open normally the second time. If it's the resolution, I would think it's not going to change at all, no matter how many times I open it....just curious.

Beats me:?

First I've heard of it resizing itself.

Just curious, you're not running Vista are you? So many oddball anomalies in that system it won't surprise me if you are.

Nope, I'm running XP Professional. And I'm just going to live with the nusiance. I can't abide the tiny icons when I change the resolution. But thanks for all your suggestions.

I hear you.

I don't like the small shortcuts either, so I just change it when I have a need for Vogone, then I put it back. I find that less a nuisance than staring at the mini shortcuts all the time.

Thanks for that, but I'll just keep opening it twice. I use it a lot. I create karaoke from audio tracks. As far as new software, I have many new software programs and Vogone is the only one with this problem. Thanks again for all your suggestions. I always appreciate them.

I think I see what you are describing. When you open Vogone on an 800x600 screen the first time, it lines up with the bottom of the screen. Then when you close and open it again, it lines up with the top of the screen. It appears to alternate between them.

Since Vogone is not a sizeable screen, I have another suggestion for you. What physical size is your screen? 15"? 17"? Would you consider moving up one size (add 2" to the diagonal), and then viewing your desktop in at least 1024x768 mode? This may be the solution you require. Displays are getting less and less expensive, and there is so much more to show on a screen than an 800-pixel wide screen can display. The great majority of web pages out there require that you view their pages in at least 1024x768, for example.

Just my 2¢...

Thanks, dclark. That explanation makes sense. I am using a 17" screen, but I will consider moving up to a larger one. I know the flat screens are much bigger and that is what most everyone has now. However, I must say that I have not noticed any problem with web pages, but I'm going to look closer now. Thank you again.

In XP pro after you change your resolution, in the desktop properties click on the appearance tab then effects. Put a check mark beside use large icons and click ok. See if they are better for you.
