I am using a Sony CDRW in a ADS 1394 Firewire Drive Kit and it works just as good outside as it did inside. My use is with a PC
so I don't know if it would be different with a laptop.

With The ADS case it comes empty. You supply the cdrw you know works with CDG. Such as the CDRW's supplied by MTU.

We too wish there was a simple USB or Firewire CDR that would do CDG. We could sell a bunch and solve a lot of problems for folks.

DW's recommendation is the only valid way we know of to get a CDG CDR drive. We can assemble the parts for you if you wish.

Don't waste your money on the Yamaha.. I bought one and it doesn't copy cdg's. They're trying to fix the problem. It writes it so fast that it actually scrambles the graphics. The title is the only thing that comes out clean.. rest is garbled garbage.

Yamaha is aware of the problem and told me that they have to fix the firmware
