Ok, I know that there are some of you that also DJ, as well as KJ. We have 1 gig a week where it's strictly DJ, which is quite fun.

The bar is doing theme nights every now and then, and this Friday is "Jimmy Buffett" night. Now, they don't want 4 hours of Buffett. They want Buffett mixed in with "beachy dance music". Now, this is mostly an under 30 crowd, so it's not necessarily the Beach Boys stuff, although there may be a little of it. They also mention Calypso music.

Now, when I think of songs like that, I think of "Jammin'" (Marley?), and "Red, Red Wine" (by UB40).

What are more artists and songs along that theme, that give people a "tiki party" type theme. On a beach, with the little tiki bar, etc. You know, Carribean/Hawaiian vacation music (excluding Don Ho, please).

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Don't think that 30 and under crowd don't know Beach Boys stuff, I just done a birthday party for a 5 year old, we had a 7 year old doing Hank Williams songs, I always offer both dj and kj, and bring it along in case. This party was supposed to be mostly dj, and a little kj later on. Well it turned out the opposite. For a little help "Five oclock somewhere" should be in your music, Ten Rounds with Jose Cuervo, and of course Jose Cuervo. Two Pina Coladas. Now I've run out of suggestions. You should get a bunch more from the helpful people on this forum. Take care and have fun. Swany
