As I have shouted in these forums many times over the last couple of years, I think that any future for MicroEditor (outside of further development) lies in understanding how to get 32bit files in and out of it....There has been some indication in these pages that a raw .sf could be opened in programs like Cool Edit (AKA Adobe Audition), which I should be able to attempt soon since I am demoing/testing Audition as soon as I finish my current DVD.

I have never understood, however, how to get these files back into MicroEditor. The full roundtrip has to work for Medit to continue to have life.

Please! Anyone at MTU or out in the real world who has knowledge of this process, communicate it here or offline to mudsmith@earthlink.net

Thanks.....

Hi, all.

I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to respond to this.

Basically, after you import the file into CoolEdit and do your modifications, you must save the new file as a RAW/PCM file with NO NEW HEADER. This is vitally important as Microeditor won't recognize the file if the header has been modified.

My step-by-step instructions are here: http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?t=773

I can't say yet whether this will work with Audition. I should be able to try it before too long.

All the best,

Chas.
