Has anyone been able to use a USB external CDRW with Microstudio successfully? If so, what is the model of the recorder. A friend of mine has a Hewlett Packard computer with no additional bays to add a internal recorder. I know he could take the cdrom out, install an MTU recognized internal CDRW and use Microstudio but for some types of copying, he would still need both drives.

We have some clients that are using the HP 8100 USB drive. I don't recommend this drive because sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. It also seems that you won't beable to write faster than 1x with this drive.

Thanks,

Thank's MTU Support for your reply. The HP 8100 series USB CDRW is off the market and has been replaced with 8200 series units. Has anyone tried one of these newer HP USB units with Microstudio?
