Hoster doesn't recognize my Plextor 48 cd drive. I have the
latest version of Hoster and have reinstalled Hoster from
MTU site. I also have Microstudio 2.5 that recognizes the plextor
drive. Everyother program on my computer works perfectly and
recognizes the Plextor drive. I have the latest HP computer system with all the bells and whistles.
What is the problem and how can I correct this?

Click on the Tools Tab, ASPI Drivers. Check what this is set to. Try changing it between the 2 options, to see if the other will work.

I bet it will.

Changed fron ASPI drivers to Default drivers before. Doesn't
work. Microstudio 2.5 recognizes the drives. Every other
program works perfect. Only on Hoster:e

What version of Hoster do you have installed?

I have the latest Hoster version, just downloaded and re-installed it last week. Also have 18,000 songs downloaded
to 120 gig Hard Drive E: It will only recognize 13,000 to
reload. Hoster says it will recognize alll KMA files if no folder
is listed when reloading database. It will only recognize 13,000.
Why?????:m

Muzicman,
You do have to tell Hoster which folders to look in for your .KMA files. This is incorrect, it won't search the entire computer, but only where you tell it to.

I would add all of the Folders that you have .kma files within, then Delete the songs.mdb database file. Then rebuild the Songs Database.

As to the reason the drive is not showing up, I have never heard of this. If Microstudio will see it, then it is working with our ASPI drivers and the program is able to see it attached to the computer. Microstudio and Hoster use the exact same code to find the CD-R drive. This is why I was asking what version of Hoster you had installed.

If you have 2.014, then it will see the 48x drive. Make sure that the ASPI drivers selection in Hoster is set to the exact same as in Microstudio. This is the only thing that could do this, that I am aware of. This is located on the Tools Tab under Hoster. Make sure when you make a change, that you close the program and reopen it.

If this doesn't do anything then try installing the ASPI drivers located at: http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?threadid=493

Install Solution #1 first and try our latest ASPI driver. This should be what is installed on your system already, because it is included with Microstudio 2.506.

Reinstalled Hoster 2.011. Reinstalled song database. All songs
re-loaded.
Hoster still doesn't recognize plextor drive. Modified installation
to include aspi drivers. Still no results.

I have completely uninstalled hoster and re-installed hoster
2.011. Microstudio recognizes the drive, hoster still doesn't.
Before it recognized both the karaoke and the none karaoke
drive. Now will not see either.:?

Muziman144,
Hoster 2.011 doesn't support the 48x Plextor drive I don't think. Please email DougD@mtu.com. I don't think that the version that you have will support this drive.

Lets upgrade anyways just to make sure.

This version recognized both the plextor48 and a non Karaoke
drive previously. Now recognizes neither. Everthing else works
perfectly.:?

You should NOT use Version 2.011 even if it did recognize your CDROM. This version has a bug in the Import that causes the AUDIO to repeat at the beginning of songs.

2.012 fixed this anomaly.

Muziman,
Did you get the drive to show up under Hoster? Did you upgrade?

Sorry, was out of town. Just downloaded Hoster 2.014. Re-loaded
database. Hoster doesn't reconize Plextor 48 or the other audio
drive as it did before. Microstudio still reconizes both drives.
Very frustrated.
What am i doing wrong?????????
