bin files

I would like to know if I can use MTU with .bin files generated by goldenhawk software? I need to use Vogone, Keyrite etc.
Help!

I have recently tested everything you are speaking of except Vogone (Not sure of the appliction there)

I changed the name of the extension from .bin to .cdg
I used keyrite
I made a custom assembly in Microstudio
The disc created turned out fine.
I played the cdg files in microstudio before burning to disc


I don't think that this was possible with earlier software. I have vague memories of the cdg (formerly bin) freezing when I wanted to use keyrite.

But everything works now once you change the extension names.

Jahern, Thank you for the info! How did you change the extentions. I am pretty new to this stuff. I tried to go to explore and find the file which I did but how do you change the .ext Sorry to be a pain but I really want to learn this.

I'm not sure about the different versions of windows.

Once I find the file I can do either a soft double click on the file or I right click.

The soft double click (slowly so as not to activate the file) takes you into the name editing, or "rename" mode. You basically edit the text like you would in a typical word processing program. (eg. if you highlight and type, everything you highlight will disappear, move the cursor, delete key, backspace key etc.) Whatever you name the file, make sure that the last four characters are .cdg Only use one dot in the name. Click outside the file, and the name is set.

The right click on the file allows you to choose to go into rename. Choose it then follow the above steps.

Good Luck, it takes some practice, so don't be discouraged.

in my computer make sure that you have show extensions marked or it will just end up as a bin file with the title showing .cdg

I'm working on my friend's computer, using Windows 2000

Start, Settings, Control Panel
Folder Options
View
Disable "Hide file extensions etc...."
Apply, OK

This computer accesses the files this way:

"My Computer" Icon
Choose Drive and Folder
(I like View (List, Details))

Change names per previous instruction in this thread. (You might have to change property of file by right-clicking file, choosing properties then un-clicking the "read only" box)

Danny_g's last entry motivated me to make sure I knew at least one other windows version. I hope that xp and me aren't much different.

xp works about the same in that area.
