After deliberating for the past few months I finally upgraded my laptop to WinXP-Pro. I just downloaded and installed the Hoster Demo, as I wanted to try it out. Installed ok, except it doesn't recognize my Plextor USB drive as being able to support Karaoke. The drive works fine with Microstudio, and shows "Yes" for Karaoke, but in Hoster-Demo, it shows "No" Any ideas why this is? Thanks.

Oh, forgot to mention that... it's a Plextor PX-W4824TU (USB2.0)

Hi.... :s :s :s

Microstudio uses our newest CDR drive interface software, but the Hoster demo does not, so it will not yet recognize a 48X CDR drive.

We are so close to having Hoster 2.0 released that we have postponed investing the time to upgrade the Hoster 1.208 demo.

Please forgive us. That is the reason your drive is not recognized. :e :s

But will Hoster 2.0 (non demo) be able to support this drive. I suppose I could just take it for granted that Hoster is a good program, after all I have been using your programs for a couple of years now, and you have never failed to meet my expectations. (and I'm somewhat of a perfectionist.) I just want to make sure that this drive will work before I shell out the big buck$ :)

Thanks again,

Mike

i have the same problem. i have 2 plextor 48x burners that say no for karaoke in the hoster demo(but work fine in microstudio). which sucks because i wanted to actually try the program before buying it.

how fast can you get a disc converted (safely) and what about discs that have scratches? does that pose a huge problem.?

they take about 30 seconds each @ 128

if you do karaoke, this program is a must !!

i would wait for the 2.? version to come out, this way you may get a upgrade to 3.0. just my thought !
