View Full Version : Error Msg & screen anomaly

I just upgraded to 5.04.10 & now have the following:

Script Error
Line 65
Char: 1
Error: Unable to get value of the property 'attachEvent': object is null or undefined
Code: 0
URL: file://C/MTU/Hoster/BodyDisplay.htm
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

Also, the secondary display screen has a small rectangular box in the middle of the upper 1/2 of the screen. This disappears after the first song starts to play.

(see attachment)

Thx,
DC :?

That is to do with the picture that is displayed on the main display. Check the Tools/Intermision/Graphics Area settings. Make sure if you have it set for an image or html url that they are still where the address shows in the boxes.

Another check you can make is to go to C/Mtu/Hoster folder and see if the file BodyDisplay.htm file is missing if not click on it and see what comes up.

Other than that try re-downloading the update and re-install.

Thanks, Roy....

When you say "Main Display", are you referring to the large display that we use for singer lyrics, or the laptop display?

I have tried to re-set the backgrounds on both display to a null setting but still encounter the anomaly.

I should have said Singers display where the lyrics display.
Is it the same in the small preview window ?
Do you still get the Hoster logo for a few seconds before this displays ?

Try setting it to a solid colour.

Might be worth posting this in Hoster 5.04 bugs report here: http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?t=12784

Thanks again, for your comments, Roy.

Yes, I removed all of the marquee banners & set the color to a solid blue. Interestingly enough, the error message appears in the middle of the singers screen when both are connected and in the middle of the laptop screen when not connectd. The small square box appears in the small hoster lyrics window and the singers screen until the first song is played.

I am wondering ... if I deleted the html files relating to the displays and re-installed the program, will the install re-create default html files?

Thanks again,

DC

If you delete the Bodydisplay.htm & BodydisplaySm.htm files they are rebuilt as soon as you start Hoster so there is a process happens prior to this that may be causing it.
What you say would do no harm, re-downloading and re-installing Hoster is the only thing I can think of, installing may have corrupted a file.
If that doesn't work I should submit a support ticket.

When I turn-on my backup laptop and open Hoster, I get his message on the screen:

Script Error
Error has occurred in the script on this page
Line 36
Char 1

The value of the property is "$" is null or undefined, not a function object.

Code 0

URL file///C/Programdata/mtucom/Hoster/MarqueeDisplaySm.
htm

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page, both yes and no deletes the message and another appears:

file///C/Programdata/mtucom/Hoster/MarqueeDisplayhtm

This problem started when I tried to match my backup to my master Hoster laptop.

Not sure I'm matched, but with the exception of the Scripts Error and missing a locked folder: _SYNCAPP from the Hoster files, my backup seems to work ok.

Any advice would be helpful,

Wes

P.S. I'm running the latest version of Hoster on both laptops.
Wes

What have you got selected to display in your Marquee ?

If you untick all items in the dialog you should see "This Show Is Using Video Hoster"

With no items checked close Hoster and see if that stops the Script error.
If it does stop the script error re tick the boxes one at a time and restarting Hoster until you find the one causing the error.
If you are still getting the error with none selected untick the time & countdown boxes and recheck in case it has something to do with those settings.

I don't know what the missing a locked folder: _SYNCAPP file is, is it in your Hoster folder only I don't think it should be there as it's a Microsoft item.

Anyway see how you get on with the above first.

Roy,

Thanks as always for the quick reply. I cleared the display and "This Show Is Using Video Hoster" started to run across the top of the display. However, it didn't fix the problem.

When I open HOSTER on my master laptop, I get the following folders at the top of the page:
-SYNCAPP (when opened there is a XML Document "metadata" 966KB)
Audio
Karaoke
MP3+G
My Play Lists
Reports
Then there are other files including the Marquee files.

My backup computer doesn't have the -SYNCAPP folder.

Thanks again,
Wes

Either try re installing if that doesn't help I think it best you put in a support ticket.
Sorry I couldn't help on this one.

Roy,

No apologies necessary, you always give it your best helping others. Since I only use my Hoster with friends, it's no big deal for a problem with my back-up.

Thanks again,
Wes

For this it is missing a java script, reinstalling will fix this error as Roy pointed oit. Give that a try if you have not yet.
